GastroIntestinal Endoscopy (also known as GIE) is a group of seven specialist Gastroenterologists that provide an efficient 'Open Access' service for colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
The premise of the 'Open Access' or direct referral system is to allow patients the opportunity to have routine gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures without prior consultation with a Gastroenterologist. The patient, who is referred by a Doctor, must have few or no medical complaints to access this system. This 'Open Access' process provides the medical community and their patients with an efficient, cost effective and timely gastrointestinal service. Colonoscopy, upper endoscopy and capsule endoscopy are the procedures performed by these Gastroenterologists on an 'Open Access' basis.
Currently, GastroIntestinal Endoscopy operates an 'Open Access' service from five centres:
Underpinned by our specialist Gastroenterologists, GIE has an enviable level of medical experience. Our Gastroenterologists all possess a wide range of clinical expertise in their varied specialty areas within Gastroenterology.
Outside the province of the 'Open Access' system, our Gastroenterologists provide a private and broader procedural and consultation service from their individual private practices (which you will find detailed in our Doctor profiles).
GastroIntestinal Endoscopy (GIE) hopes you find this website useful. Please do not hesitate to contact one of the GIE offices if you have any questions about our services.
Please be aware that this site is not to be used as a substitute for advice from our Gastroenterologists or from any other doctor.
